After a few days in Sri Lanka for a wonderful wedding, we took a quick flight down to Sri Lanka, and then a 3-hour taxi ride to the interior of the island-nation, to the ancient city of Kandy. Another interesting city, and definitely one more fit for western tourists: not my typical style, though a delight nonetheless.
The photos of the blue landscape show Turkey through the filter of the darkened window on a Boeing 787. It looked a lot like I imagine Mars might look like from the sky.
